Let’s Dish!
4th of July is only a few days away! My favorite. Fireworks and good food. For you non-vegetarians that want to indulge on the holiday, below is a great recipe from SELF that isn’t too bad for you and actually packs a lot of good for you nutrients. I am going to try this myself…
Serves 4
For burgers
Preheat grill to medium high. Combine beef, pork, rosemary, sage, and salt in a medium-sized bowl; form into 4 patties. Grill patties 4 minutes on each side or until juices run clear.
For chive “mayo”
In a small bowl, combine mayo ingredients.
For apple slaw
In a medium-sized bowl, combine slaw ingredients.
To assemble
Toast the buns and spread each top with mayo. Place burger on bun and top with slaw and several spinach leaves.

Happy grilling,
Heidi
News just broke that Michael Jackson has died of a heart attack. Died. Can you believe it? This one came out of left field. And he had 50 sold out shows coming up. This is a real loss – I grew up with him and am personally very very saddened by this. Blessings to his family.

Farah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer today at 62 years old. Her family was gathered by her bedside to say goodbye. She has been fighting this disease since 2006 and will be dearly missed. We send our thoughts and prayers to her family.

I read the other day that your memory will be improved by 20% if you take a walk in nature rather than surrounded by traffic. (I don’t know if this is true, but sounds good to me!) It can be hard if you live in the city, but go to a park or look online for a local hiking trail and enjoy the fresh air! It is certainly better for your lungs and overall health.
Happy walking,
Heidi
My sister found this and passed it on to me. I think it is a wonderful idea and I hope you all will join us! It is called Operation Beautiful. The idea is you leave little notes in public places – restrooms, gym lockers, elevators, wherever. The notes say encouraging things like, “You are beautiful!” or “You are perfect just the way you are.” Check out the website below to see pictures people have taken of the notes and read more about it. What a great way to spread positive change!
Here’s to being beautiful!

I heard a dream interpreter talk on the radio this morning and it was very interesting. I tend to have this dream about twice a month where my teeth fall out! I hate it. I wake up rubbing my tongue over my teeth just making sure. Did you know that we all dream 100 minutes a night? You sleep for 90 minutes and then have dreams – even if you don’t remember them. The guy on the radio this morning calls himself the Dream Doctor. You can go to his website and look into your own dreams! www.dreamdoctor.com
Happy snoozing,

Last night I went to the hospital to visit Linds, her husband, and Elle. OH MY GOODNESS – what a beautiful baby!!! She is so sweet and calm. She has red hair too! A surprise! And Lindsay looks gorgeous – just glowing from the inside out. It was really amazing to see her with this little person that we have waited so long to meet. There was such a calm feeling about being in that room and watching someone experience life and see things for the first time. And it is really funny how something so little can entertain a bunch of adults! I just can’t believe one of us has one of those. And you know what? Up close, the whole thing doesn’t look at scary as I thought it would. The whole baby thing sounds very overwhelming when you hear someone retell it over the phone or watch it on the movies. But it doesn’t have to be like that and to see my very dear friend do this, I know I too can handle it.

Elle is finally here! She was born last night around 7pm. I can’t wait to meet her. I don’t have a ton of details yet, but I will be sure to keep you all up to date!
Congratulations to mom Lindsay and dad Barry.

Katie
Here’s the latest episode.
Enjoy!
This weekend will be my last without a little one. On Sunday evening I head off to the hospital to begin the process of being induced. If everything goes as planned, I’ll be a mommy on Monday afternoon! I imagine I’ll be out of commission for a bit at the beginning…so please don’t think I’ve forgotten all of you! I promise I’ll be back. Let’s just hope that I have something to talk about besides diapers and breast pumps.
Happy Weekend!
